We recently acquired Montreal-based Fluttrbox, an emerging provider of on-demand aerial property inspections. The innovative software platform created by Fluttrbox, in conjunction with drone and other aerial technology, delivers granular property detail to insurers, reducing both time and cost in underwriting and claims processes.
This is highly beneficial for not just property inspections, but also for hard-to-place risk and for specialty insurance vendors across North America. For example, during last year’s hurricane season, Kyle Reynolds, Adjuster, Engle Martin & Associates realized the benefits of Fluttrbox. “We were in a situation where coverage was questionable and pending a roof inspection,” he said. “The building rooftop was inaccessible without use of lift equipment and extremely dangerous if climbed. I was told about Fluttrbox through a colleague and without their help and images, the claim would have taken much longer to resolve and much more costly. The quality of the images, the ease of ordering the inspection and the customer service just made my job a lot easier. This is a one of a kind vendor.”
“Our partnership with Solera Canada allows us to expand the Fluttrbox platform, both with our network of aerial operators and our software itself,” said Fluttrbox founder Aristo Mohit-Coker.
Fluttrbox’s innovative use of drone technology along with in-depth, high quality reporting allows insurance companies to accurately inspect properties without the wait. Traditional property inspections can take several weeks to carry out, but Fluttrbox does the job in only days, allowing for quicker decisions, and significantly reduced cycle times.
For the Canadian market, there are opportunities not only on the property side but also with automotive. For example, during CATs, drones and other aerial tools can be used to quickly assess damaged vehicles that may not be accessible on foot.
